INCREASE OF SAMHS FUND CONTRIBUTION FEE: 1 JULY 2010

Management hereby informs principal members of the Fund, that a Funeral Policy to the amount of R10 000,00 has been negotiated and approved.  The policy has been activated 1 July 2010 effective 1 August 2010.

The full amount will be paid to a beneficiary in the event of the insured passing away.  Documentation in this regard will be been submitted to the Insurance Company via the SAMHS Fund Office.

The SAMHS Fund Executive Committee reconsidered the contributors’ monthly tariff of R17,00.  The Fund has not increased contributors’ fees for the last five years. 

With all factors considered the SAMHS Fund is obligated to increase the contribution fee to R36.00 per month.  This amount includes the Linric Club and the Funeral Policy.

Out of the Force SAMHS Fund contributors will be charged the new annual tariff of R432,00 which includes Linric Club and a funeral policy as from 1 January 2011.

You may view events at www.suninternational.com for events at the Sun City Superbowl. Kindly keep in mind those events at the Superbowl does effect "holiday" bookings done by this office as the Resort could be fully reserved.

We will only be able to assist you from April 2011 with bookings at the Vacation Club.

Membership of this Club normally costs R599 pa but all Fund contributors are automatically (for free) members.
Membership includes parents of only the principal member and dependents up to 18 years of age.

Examples of repayment

Study Grants:Each year (closing date middle February) the Fund issues grants to applicants who are successful in their studies; these members being contributors of the Fund and members of the Arm Of Service: SAMHS. 
The grants are offered to one student per family, whether it is the contributor or a dependant, to assist with the cost of tertiary education.
Such grants are available for undergraduate study from 2nd year level onwards at Universities, Universities of Technology and Technical Colleges.

CATEGORY 2: OPTIONAL EXTRA BENEFITS AVAILABLE TO CONTRIBUTORS AT AN ADDITIONAL COST.

• Resort Condominiums International (RCI):
  
  
• For an additional R28, as from 1 May 2010, per month or an annual subscription of R292,00 (40% less than the normal contribution) contributors can join RCI, the largest holiday exchange organisation in the world, with 184 affiliated resorts in Southern Africa (including our own Resort) and 3700 world-wide.
  
  Through this RCI membership, contributors can book accommodation at our resort, “space bank” it with RCI in exchange for alternative holiday accommodation either locally or overseas. Kindly take into consideration that an exchange fees payable for exchanges. Members can also make use of RCI Bonus Stock and all other RCI Services.

• Automobile Association of South Africa (AA of SA):
  
  
• SAMHS Fund contributors making use of the AA of SA benefit through the Fund are hereby informed that the tariff increase for the AA is with effect 1 July annually.
  Kindly inform this office, Mrs Adelaide Erasmus telephone number (012) 664-8459 at least one month in advance, of your annual renewal month, should you wish to cancel your AA of SA membership. As stipulated on the AA of SA application form membership is automatically renewed and will only be cancelled on receiving your request in writing.

  Professional Indemnity Insurance:
  
  * Indemnus. This cover is available through Indemnity Insurance Brokers for Health Care Professional contributors at discounted premiums negotiated by the Fund. Nursing staff are covered for up to R5,million per claim for a monthly premium of only R18.50 (deducted from their pay sheets) or per annum to R190,00 (via bank debit order). • Legal Aid:
  
  Accelera. Legal Aid including free legal representation in criminal, civil and military cases is available under Accelera’s LawCall Scheme at a cost of R50 and R90 respectively for single and family membership.
